R8-EX: Rugged tablet with 12th generation Intel Core CPU and ATEX certification

Durabook introduces R8-EX, the new ATEX-certified rugged tablet with an 8″ display and 12th generation Intel Core processor, capable of operating in high explosion-hazard areas. R8-EX tablet features an 8″ Full HD LCD display with a resolution of 1280 x 800, a capacitive multi-touch touchscreen, and an optional sunlight-readable configuration. The aluminum casing ensures lightness and resistance to drops from up to 1.2 meters and provides IP66 protection against dust and liquids. The R8-EX tablet complies with MIL-STD-810H, ATEX Zone 2 (Ex II 3G Ex ic IIC T4 Gc and Ex II 3D Ex ic IIIB T135°C Dc) standards and offers extended operation from -20°C to +60°C. The new rugged tablet integrates a solid-state drive with a maximum capacity of 1TB and features numerous I/O ports, including a Thunderbolt 4, a USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C, audio in/out, a microSD card slot, a docking connector, and a nano SIM card socket.
Additionally, it ensures Dual Band Wireless and Bluetooth connectivity, while GPS and 4G LTE are optionally available, making R8-EX the ideal rugged tablet for industrial applications. The tablet’s battery can be expanded to up to 7200 mAh, ensuring optimal performance even in harsh environments where ATEX certification is required.
